And I thought the 3-4kg GT's I saw smashing Butter Bream and Gar last Sunday at Surfers were orsome [they even followed my 4"flickbait Shocked Cry], they'd make a quick breaky for your ones.
I've seen big GT's smash big toadfish live bait on the Hervey Bay Pier in the 1980's and some caught on rope but they were not as big as those NC ones.
Luke, is the one you are holding in the 1st pic in the Big Popping article about your biggest and how big was it? Roll Eyes

Yeah mate, that is my biggest - estimated at 50kg. It was almost as tall as me!

I had hits from fish that would've been 60kg + easily.

Oh it is true     Shocked

I hope to get a decent shot of one of the bigger one,s around like those above. They never cease to amaze me.... I raised the biggest I've seen yet last weekend but as I dont use tail trebles ( I find they wreck the fish too much during the fight and the strike is typically on the front anyway) he took one strike and bit the tail,of course  - launching the popper 10 feet in the air as I struck and failed to hook up, ripping it clean out of his mouth. He hung at the surface for a few seconds then casually went back to the depths.

But wow Shocked Shocked Shocked what a monster........ The adrenalin was racing for hours and the smile is still on my silly face......  Grin

Soon hopfully and if I am lucky enough ?
