New Daiwa GT Rod range?
« on: February 09, 2010, 09:10:36 AM »
Any info out there?  Mate in the tackle shop said the rep had one the other day and he ordered a few.  Couldn't give me lengths or PE ratings but said they looked nice and more forgiving than the GT Specials - priced around the $600 mark.  Is there a new range or is this some pre-existing rods just hitting the chain stores (TW) recently?

Brandon was saying something along the lines of a new 7'6 rod which is ideal for stickbaits Haven't seen them myself.

I checked one out at the local shop the other day, pretty fast taper and soft tip for a GT popping rod!  I think Brandon is on the mark, looks more like a medium stick bait rod (more like PE6-8).  Very light in the hand, split rear grip will not be for everyone either!  I think it will be folding up a bit trying to cast anything over about 175 grams.
